9 Keys to Effective Study
- Pray – prior to and after each study period.
- 2. Read straight through the booklet for first time. On your second reading, make notes, underline and highlight throughout the material. The third reading is when you have pen and paper ready to write your required 1500-word paper on the specific topic you just read and studied.
- Create a written daily schedule and manage your time wisely. Develop strong time management skills.
- Stay organized and be thorough. Have a designated study space that is free from distractions both physically and digitally so that you can focus on your work.
- Set goals for yourself.
- Limit your time on social media.
- Stay connected with your mentor and instructor if available.
- Communicate with NTMI/NTBBC on your progress in course material.
- Do your best to avoid multitasking. Multitasking while trying to study simply does not work.
